This page synthesizes three noise spectra with the Web Audio API after you press Play. It does not request microphone access, load a third-party stream, or upload audio.
Use a comfortable level and keep important surroundings audible. This ambient tool is not a medical or treatment product and cannot guarantee changes in focus, sleep, anxiety, or health.
White noise starts from equal random energy per frequency bin, which can sound bright because each wider high-frequency octave contains more bins. Pink noise applies a stable filter approximation so energy falls with frequency and octaves are more balanced.
Brown noise uses a leaky integration of random samples, emphasizing lower frequencies. Leakage, normalization, and amplitude limiting keep the signal from drifting indefinitely or clipping. Speakers and headphones can change all three impressions substantially.
A short local buffer is filled from original DSP code, looped through a gain stage, and connected to the browser audio destination. The amplitude is limited before output, and the main volume defaults well below its maximum.
One engine owns the AudioContext. Repeated Play, pause, locale, theme, timer, and visibility changes reuse that engine rather than stacking graphs. Leaving the page stops sources, disconnects nodes, and closes the context.
Fade-in avoids an abrupt start. Switching type crossfades from the current buffer to the new spectrum, while Stop releases sources. A timer uses one tracked deadline and stops playback when it expires.
Browsers may suspend audio after backgrounding or system interruption. A later user Play action resumes the same context where supported. No sound begins on page load.
Headphone frequency response, speaker size, room reflections, device processing, volume, and hearing differences alter the perceived balance. Brown noise may sound weak on a small phone speaker that cannot reproduce low frequencies.
Preference is personal and can vary by task or day. The tool offers controls, not a claim that one spectrum is universally better.
The generator does not measure attention and cannot guarantee improved concentration, sleep, productivity, or health. It does not treat ADHD, anxiety, tinnitus, insomnia, or any other condition.
A timer confirms that this page stopped its audio graph; it cannot control other applications, system volume, external audio processing, or the listener's environment.
Do not raise volume to cover alarms, traffic, machinery, people who need your attention, or other hazard cues. Avoid isolating playback while driving, cycling, or doing work that requires hearing warnings.
Start low, adjust gradually, and stop if the sound feels uncomfortable. These are practical comfort cautions, not a precise medical threshold.
