Mechanism-based visual collection
Visual tasks on this site are not interchangeable. Some require ordered scanning, some a present-or-absent decision, some simultaneous position recall, and one depends on tracking moving objects.
Schulte Table asks for every number in order. Visual Search asks for a target in clutter. Symbol Search compares target marks with a candidate row. Visual Memory hides simultaneous positions. Multiple Object Tracking makes originally marked objects visually identical while they move.
Screen dimensions, zoom, object size, refresh rate, and pointer method matter. Results describe the selected implementation and should not be interpreted as a visual field, eyesight, driving, or clinical result.
In a static search, targets remain available until the board changes, so a systematic scan is possible. In tracking, all objects move and target markings disappear; position must be updated continuously. Compare scores only within the same task.
Visual Memory requires a set of locations without order. Working Memory and Memory Sequence reveal cues one at a time and require order. Choose the mechanism, not the broad word “memory.”
Multiple Object Tracking depends on motion and warns users who prefer reduced motion; there is no equivalent static version. Use zoom and a comfortable input method for other tasks, and stop if a display causes discomfort.
